My name is Cassandra, and I’m soon to be 25 years old. I was born in Powell River, but moved to the prairies at a very young age, where I quickly developed a strong tolerance for the cold alongside a resilient, warm heart. My teenage years were spent in the Okanagan, and it wasn’t until a year and a half ago that my boyfriend, Christian and I packed up and headed to Victoria. We both simply love it here, and are blessed with where we have ended up together.
I sprouted an interest in art around the age of sixteen. My curiosity drove me towards exploring all sorts of mediums- watercolours, pointillism, ceramics, mixed media- eventually leading me to a favourite: acrylic paint. I find art to be therapeutic, constant— stable. Always able to be present if you insist upon it. I find this very comforting, especially as the art I create often carries more to it than objectivity. If you choose to carry something with you- make it beautiful, make it art. From my perspective, this is the most powerful form of expression one can offer. A true reflection of self.
